Care that Feels
Like Family.
Our goal is to provide individualized assistance that fosters social integration, self-sufficiency, and overall well-being. Let’s examine what we do in more detail:
WHAT WE DO
Every Life. Every Ability. One Community.
Community Support Services
CICS provides day-to-day support for individuals living with disabilities by providing 1:1 with our Disability Support Worker (DSW) to include them in society. Our DSWs provide support to our individuals by tailoring a day program based on their unique abilities and preferences. They also provide physical support in navigating and participating in the programs of choice for a better quality of life. In addition, they assist with activities of daily living, medical appointments, and encourage active engagement in the community through recreational, leisure, and social activities to foster meaningful connections and promote a fulfilling lifestyle.
Vocational Rehabilitation (Career Services)
CICS is dedicated to helping individuals achieve their employment goals through tailored career support programs. Also, we provide personalized job search assistance, skills development, and ongoing workplace support to ensure long-term success. Our services include resume building, interview preparation, and job matching based on individual strengths and interests. Collaborating with local businesses and organizations to create inclusive employment opportunities is also part of what we do. We aim to empower individuals to find meaningful work and build fulfilling careers.
Supportive Group Living
CICS offers 24/7 residential supportive housing across Calgary. Our group homes provide private living spaces within the community, equipped with safety features and assistive technology. We offer an emergency crisis line for after-hours help. Our support includes daily living tasks like housekeeping, meal preparation, budgeting, and medication management. Residents can also participate in various community activities, ensuring a balanced and engaging lifestyle.
Complex Needs
We deliver tailored support for adults with developmental /intellectual disabilities, mental health problems and addiction issues. We use compassionate harm reduction approaches to assist those dealing with substance use and high-risk behaviors. Our team collaborates with community partners like Arnika Centre and Developmental Disabilities Mental Health to create detailed behavior support plans. Our mission is to offer individualized care that enhances safety, well-being, and overall quality of life for each person we serve.
